Janet's Chosen Charities

After deciding to have my books published the question arose, ‘What shall I do with the profits from sales?’   The decision was easy really – donate it to charity.   The next question was, ‘Which charity?’  Now this took a bit more contemplation and consideration, after all there are so many deserving charities, all of which are grateful of donations.

Since my first book, a short story set in Greece and titled, Timotheus Pserimos Puss, was published in October 2015, I have split the profits, 50/50 between Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.  I chose these two charities because my family has a predisposition to cancers and similarly, Peter’s family to heart problems.

However, on the same day as my fourth book, Truths and Lies, was published our daughter-in-law, who we have loved since the first day we met her, was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  After getting through the initial shock of her diagnosis and reading more about this condition, I decided to donate the future profits from the sales of all my books to the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society.  My profits are not huge but I hope they will in some way help to support those who suffer from this systemic disease.

The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society is a registered charity in England and Wales (1134859) and Scotland (SC039721)
